Studio space

After almost eight years of renting a little studio from my home town in the Midlands, it has now been brought to my attention that planning permission has been given the okay, and my little creative space will be demolished and be no more. Although this news has come as a shock and I’m now faced with the mission of finding a new space – I’m feeling positive that a change in space means a change in energy and the possibility of new opportunities.

My dad lovingly found my studio for me allowing me to continue painting when I graduated from university and moved my life back to live with my parents. It’s been a great base for me over the years through part-time jobs, to moving house and to finally becoming a self-employed artist three years ago when it became my full-time studio space only 15 miles away from my home. It has seen me develop as an artist and refine my style; it has seen me sad, happy, frustrated and joyful. It has seen paint spilled and heard me cursing when deadlines have been tight, but I’ve appreciated everything my studio has given me to develop. I’ve now grown as an artist and as a person and I’m ready to take the next step and find a new creative space to progress within.

If anyone knows of any potential spaces in the Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield or Tamworth area that might be suitable for an artist, then please do get in touch. It can be a little outbuilding in the town, or on a farm or even a studio within a larger building or workshop, or any space that’s a minimum of roughly 225 ft² The only other requirements I have are for it to be lockable, have natural daylight and electricity.

I have not yet been given a date of when I need to move out of my current studio by, but I am keen to get out there and start to look for spaces now, so any help would be much appreciated. :)
