I was asked by Abbie Severn to take part in a group exhibition at Hockley Social club in June. It had been a while since I’d put myself out there doing something different, so it sounded like the perfect opportunity to get out for the day and talk to people about my work. The exhibition area and layout had been curated by Abbie to have a flow of different artists to compliment one another. It was just a day pop up event so I got there in the morning and hung up x3 original paintings on wires to hang down from the exposed metal beams, and a folder of works on paper. I took along brand new abstract and floral pieces that I thought would work well in the urban, industrial setting.

I had a great time and even sold the large floral piece so I came away feeling very grateful to have been asked to participate. Going forward this event will continue to showcase invited artists to exhibit their work in a buzzing, social space. They even have rotations of street food vendors so we got to try Masterchefs Dan Lee’s food which was delicious!
