Malvern Plein Air competition

I decided to take myself out of my comfort zone on bank holiday Monday by taking part in the Malvern En Plein Air competition. It was a long day and rather cold being sat outside all day painting but that's the spirit of the competition!

We had to register at 7:30 in the morning and then go off to the natural surroundings and paint an original painting ready for judging and exhibiting at the theatre in the afternoon. It was great to see how 150 artists had interpreted the hills and the urban landscape and it made for a great exhibition.

I decided to walk around the lovely park and grounds of the Malvern theatre and paint a little scene looking over the pond filled with ducklings through the trees to the buzz of the park. I sadly didn't win any of the prizes, but it's about the taking part right?
